PBP INDUSTRIES RECEIVES TOP HONORS FROM HARDWARE RETAILERS

Innovative Belt Bucket® Resonates with Retail Buyers at 2009 National Hardware Show®

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., May 25, 2009 – PBP Industries, a leading developer of paint tools and accessories, today announced that its flagship product, the Belt Bucket, was the recipient of the prestigious Retailers’ Choice Award at the 2009 National Hardware Show in Las Vegas. The Belt Bucket is a unique, patented tool for painting that allows quick, easy and safe access to paint and is ideal for edging walls, trim work and multi-step finishes. The award recognizes the hottest new products available for retail and is determined by a panel of home and hardware retailers from across the country.

“We are honored the Belt Bucket was chosen out of the thousands of new products featured at this year’s show, and that the recognition came from retailers who know firsthand what consumers want” said Melody Masters, CEO of PBP Industries. “We have worked diligently to ensure that the Belt Bucket addresses the common frustrations of the DIY and professional painter, and it is gratifying to have our hard work recognized by such an influential panel of judges.”

The specially-contoured Belt Bucket is attached to a commercial grade tool belt to fit comfortably at the waist and holds enough paint to trim a standard room. The unique, patented design will not spill when used according to manufacturer’s recommendations, and the liner insert with attachable lid allows paint to be stored for future use. The Belt Bucket was recognized with the Retailers’ Choice Award for its innovation and for the significant business potential it offers to retailers.

“New products are the lifeblood of the industry. The Retailers’ Choice Awards program recognizes the top products each year that demonstrate strong sales potential for retail,” said Scott Wright, NRHA manager of training and communications. “The award also creates a strong bond between retailers and manufacturers due to the fact that retailers choose the winners.”

The Belt Bucket is sold as a kit including the bucket, adjustable belt that fits up to a 52” waist, clip to hold brush or mini-roller, and a disposable liner. Additional liners and lids can be purchased separately. The July issue of Hardware Retailing will feature complete information on the recipients of the 2009 Retailers’ Choice Awards.
